Case-sealer adapts to dimensions of random packs and integrates with partner software

An Endoline case-sealer has been integrated with a wider automated packing system at a large logistics provider, and had to interface directly with the line-operation software.

Warehouse automation and software specialists Breathe Technologies was tasked with designing a packing and labelling system entirely controlled by its proprietary software Orquestr8. The company turned to Endoline Automation to take care of the integrated case-sealing.

Endoline’s answer was the 704 fully-automatic random case-sealer, which it describes as a robust and adaptable machine capable of handling mixed case sizes on high-speed lines.

Head of engineering at Breathe Technologies Ugo Okafor emphasises how its clients rely on the company’s support throughout the entire lifetime of the system. “We take full accountability, and that’s why we only work with partners who provide not just excellent technology, but responsive service and long-term support,” he says. “Endoline Automation has proven to be exactly that.”

The case-sealer was modified to interface directly with Breathe Technologies’ software, ensuring the machine automatically adjusted to each case size and applied secure sealing in co-ordination with real-time system instructions.

Previously, cases were manually filled on a conveyor-fed line, with the final sealing and labelling steps all performed by hand. This used to lead to inconsistencies and errors. Now, once a case is packed,    it is automatically conveyed through Endoline’s case-sealer and on to the labeller, all fully-automated and software-coordinated.

Since implementation, says Endoline, the site has seen a significant reduction in errors and a noticeable uplift in throughput.

Sales manager at Endoline Mark Budd stresses the importance of harmonisation with the wider operation. “This project is a great example of how we approach every installation - through close collaboration and a clear understanding of the customer’s operational needs,” he says.
