Farleygreene, a UK-based engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of industrial sieving equipment, is marking its 50th anniversary. From its headquarters in Hampshire, the family-owned business supplies high-quality sieving and screening solutions to manufacturers around the world, serving the food and drink, pharmaceutical and additive manufacturing sectors through a global network of independent distributors.

The company was founded in 1976 by Peter Davies and Alan Hare, who recognised a clear gap in the market. Manufacturers across a range of industries were searching for higher quality, more bespoke sieving solutions than were available at the time. Farleygreene was established to meet that need, combining practical engineering with a commitment to building equipment tailored to real-world production challenges. Over the past five decades, the business has continually evolved its product range in response to customer requirements.
The Sievgen range marked a significant step into specialised metal-powder processing, supporting safe handling within controlled inert environments to meet the demanding requirements of the additive manufacturing sector. Alongside this, Farleygreene has enhanced its Slimline Rota centrifugal sieving range with innovations such as the cantilever drive shaft, improving hygiene, access and overall throughput. Meanwhile, the long-standing Sievmaster Slimline range continues to evolve year after year, remaining the dependable backbone of countless process lines with ongoing design improvements delivering greater efficiency and a wide range of performance-enhancing options. Supporting this product development is Farleygreene’s in-house test facility, where customers can send materials for evaluation to ensure the right equipment and mesh are selected for their specific application. This practical, hands-on approach has become a defining part of the company’s reputation. Today, Farleygreene employs 32 people and continues to design and manufacture all of its equipment in the UK.
As proud members of the Made in Britain initiative, the company champions British Engineering and local manufacturing. Its operations are backed by ISO 9001 certification and ATEX QAN approval, supporting consistent quality systems and robust processes for customers operating in regulated and safety-critical environments. Although firmly rooted in the UK, Farleygreene serves a truly global market. Working exclusively through trusted independent distributors and long-standing OEM partners, the company supports customers across Europe, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, Australasia, North and South America, and the Nordic and Baltic regions. These sustained partnerships have been instrumental to the company’s steady international growth. A key milestone in the company’s recent history came in 2013, when Antony Hare, son of co-founder Alan Hare, took sole ownership of the business. Under Antony’s leadership over the past decade, Farleygreene has strengthened its brand and market presence, developed its product portfolio and customer support offering, and continued investing in the people, processes and facilities that underpin long term growth—while maintaining the company’s commitment to UK manufacturing and engineering quality. Reflecting on the milestone, Managing Director Antony Hare said: “Reaching our 50th anniversary is something everyone at Farleygreene can be genuinely proud of. From the very beginning, the business was built on practical engineering, honest relationships and a determination to do things properly. That spirit remains exactly the same today. I’m immensely proud of our team, whose skill and dedication have carried the company forward, and grateful to our customers and distributors around the world who continue to put their trust in us. Quality has always been at the heart of what we do, and it will remain so for the next 50 years and beyond.” Looking ahead, Farleygreene is committed to continued investment in new products while refining and modernising its established ranges. The company’s focus remains clear: to provide the highest-quality sieving solutions on the market – equipment that is built to last and designed to perform.

Support for its global distributors will continue to be strengthened through digital marketing initiatives, international exhibitions, demonstration machinery and expanded use of the company’s test facilities. Farleygreene also remains firmly committed to UK manufacturing, working with local suppliers and keeping fabrication and assembly in-house to ensure quality and consistency.
To celebrate the anniversary, the company has planned a year of activity including the production of a commemorative film telling the Farleygreene story, special edition 50th merchandise for exhibitions, and a series of internal events for employees. These include a themed company scavenger hunt, charity and sporting activities throughout the spring and summer, and a dedicated team-building celebration.
After five decades of steady growth and engineering innovation, Farleygreene enters its 50th year with the same purpose it began with – helping manufacturers around the world achieve cleaner, safer and more efficient processing.
