From Motorcycles to bespoke Engineering

Last year PPMA BEST helped numerous engineers of the future by awarding them Grants and bursaries helping towards their costs as they train.

Jamie Bruce from Cambridge is one such recipient. Jamie started his engineering journey at school where he completed his work experience within a machine shop. He also enjoyed working on his motorcycle in his late teen years. Feeling that he had an aptitude for engineering he began to apply for apprenticeships at 18, eventually securing a place at Huxley Bertram Engineering Ltd. Now eight years on and Jamie is still at the firm and has made his way from the machine shop floor to the design room where he is working and studying for his BEng in Design Engineering. Jamie has received the PPMA Best undergraduate bursary.

PPMA Best hopes to continue to showcase our recipients, and assist more engineers of the future.
