PPMA BEST supports London student to further their career in engineering

A Young engineering student has been financially assisted by PPMA BEST whilst on placement at RARUK Automation.

London local Abdulbasit Hussain, studying Aeronautical engineering at Loughborough University is currently on a one year placement at RARUK Automation, where he has the opportunity to gain real world experience and valuable skills as an automation technician intern.

Abdulbasit received a £1000 undergraduate bursary from PPMA BEST which will help him finance his commute to RARUK Automation Headquarters in Shefford, Bedfordshire.

Abdulbasit knew he wanted to be an engineer as it was the perfect amalgamation of maths and physics, and something that could be used in real life applications, as well as providing a rewarding and stimulating career.

I’m enjoying this placement as its heavily based around problem solving. The solution is easy but the steps towards that solution is what makes my role here at RARUK exciting. As an engineer, this is a perfect role to begin my career and help my understanding on how to tackle/handle problems. At RARUK Automation I have been involved in a lot of feasibility studies and programmed the universal robots through computing to successfully demonstrate the efficacy of the robots.

Spending a year in industry is a fantastic way of giving the engineers of the future a solid start into this fulfilling and satisfying career. Abdulbasits’ commitment to this path really shines through and we were glad to help him apply for the grant that made this placement much more achievable for him.
