Ravenwood Packaging says it has created an upgrade to its vision system which provides high-performance inspection of labels in limited line space, with options for low IT needs.
This compact upgrade to its vision inspection system is said to offer exacting label inspection in a simplified format. It is designed to bolt seamlessly on to the Nobac 5000 outfeed belt, but is compatible with most conveyor systems. The company says the upgrade is ideal for manufacturers seeking robust inspection in limited production spaces.
This streamlined version of Ravenwood’s original vision technology delivers automated end-of-line label inspection, identifying print defects, misaligned labels and incorrect data such as barcodes and use-by dates. It features 4K image quality, precise fault detection and operator-free automation, says the supplier.
New features include a deep learning optical character recognition (OCR) module for virtual reality (VR) and virtual extended reality (VXR) platforms. This is said to enable fast, accurate text recognition without the need for manual font configuration. The minimal setup time makes this ideal for industrial and high-speed environments, says Ravenwood.
In addition, there are the bolt-on quality management options QUOR and Q-Lite. QUOR generates retailer-compliant key performance indicator (KPI) reports and provides full traceability via secure, on- or offsite access through PC software or the QUOR app.
Introduced this year, Q-Lite is a streamlined, report-only version of QUOR. It is said to deliver instant, real-time label compliance reports with minimal IT requirements. Reports are triggered automatically, and are accessible at any time via the cloud. It represents a cost-effective, entry-level option with future upgrade potential.
