Supporting the Next Generation - PPMA BEST (Business Education Skills and Training) was established as a charitable incorporated organisation (registered charity no. 1156041) in 2014.
Our number one aim is to present a pathway for young people to enter and develop engineering careers within the processing and packaging, robotics, and industrial vision industries.
PPMA BEST offers a variety of apprenticeship grants and bursaries as support for PPMA Group member companies. The charity also works with PPMA member companies to form strong links with local schools and colleges. In so doing we inspire a diverse range of young people with interactive STEM-based activities.
That’s why we make it our business to help members bridge the skills gap by supporting them to identify, recruit and retain talent.
As the major contributor to PPMA Business Education Skills and Training (BEST) we are encouraging young people to develop a career in engineering and automation. We support the charity in hosting activities such as STEM days for PPMA members and their families as well as supporting apprentices and placements within member companies
Apprenticeships are a vital tool to help bridge the skills gap. PPMA BEST offers a range of support including grants and bursaries to encourage more people into the industry.
Today’s school children are tomorrow’s engineers. The PPMA BEST Factory of the Future program is aimed at primary school students to inspire and encourage young people towards an engineering career via a online virtual ‘learning through fun’ experience.
PPMA BEST also offers a range of industry led accredited STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities in partnership with other organisations. These include STEM days, projects and work experience throughout the year.
