Electrical Machinery Safety - An Introduction to EN 60204-1

This course is suitable for anyone involved with the design and implementation of electrical Machinery  primarily intended for industry. This includes Machine Engineers, Maintainers, Designers, Suppliers and anyone involved in modifying and updating industrial electrical machinery throughout its lifetime. 

The aim of this one-day course is to present an overview of EN 60204-1; to understand its requirements for industrial installations and to introduce the general safety-related design necessities associated with electrical machinery equipment.

 

By the end of the course participants will

  • Understand the scope of electrical equipment to which the standard applies.
  • Be aware of the general and specific standard requirements to ensure the safety and protection of those using the machine, and the machine itself.
  • Learn the specific requirements of control functions, control devices, control gears etc. taking into account operator interface and the necessary prevention of inadvertent operation.
  • Know the test and technical documentation requirements to verify that the machine or assembly of machines complies with the safety standard.
