Herrmann Ultraschall's packaging technology leads the way in tight packages at high cycle rates; they ensure a safe and hermetic seal, even through contaminants in the seal area. Ultrasonic tools are immediately available after switch-on, they do not heat up and ensure gentle handling of materials and feed materials. They are available for longitudinal and cross seams and designed for integration both into new packaging lines (OEM) and as retrofit into existing machine designs.

The focus is on intermittent sealing of top seals, e.g. stand-up pouches, despite any product residues present. The vibration of the ultrasonic tool allows you to obtain reliable joint quality despite dusty or pasty filling contents. Burns caused to the packaging material during machine stops are totally prevented. The Herrmann SUP module is optimally suited for integration in new machinery or as retrofit in existing machine designs. Designing the module as an IP67 variant, the top seal module is also suitable for wash down.

This precisely guided systems safely and quickly seal through product residues in the seal area. Narrow seals and reduced head space above the product contents save packaging materials. Operational costs are significantly reduced while the quality of products is ensured. Elements, such as film pusher units, temperature adjustment of weld tool and special solutions for machines with lateral fold-open equipment, are optionally available.

The longitudinal seal modules for FIN and overlap seals represent high-quality, continuously manufactured seals for bags (horizontal and vertical) and chained bags. Easy sealing tool change allows for customized and material-saving seam design. Precise and easily accessible adjustment elements, as well as electronic force adjustment allow for highest-level sealing results. For applications with increased requirements to cleaning, a special housing has been designed that protects the unit during wash-down.

The Herrmann Ultraschall vent applicator is a fast-acting module with a compact footprint, which is used for the most varied aroma-protecting and degassing vents in packaging. Thanks to the integrated cutter, it is possible to perform two operating steps by one tool and thus within one station. Its compact type allows for ease of integration in existing machines.

The weld tools safely seal the foil even with fine coffee residues present within the sealing zone. This complete solution consists of an ultrasonic generator, stack, guiding rail, force build-up and drive system. The compact, modular design allows for implementation of multi-lane, space-optimized solutions. In this concept it is possible to separately adjust parallel feed and sealing force for each lane. As a result optimum sealing results can be achieved.

With zippers it is possible to realize simple bag packages with re-sealing option. With the Zipper Crush module, Herrmann Ultrasonic provides a suitable solution for many different types of zippers, for fixing the zipper ends at the left and right sides of the bag by means of spot welding. Tools with high-quality finishing in combination with heavy-duty generators ensure great output quantity.

In order to make use of the many benefits of ultrasonic welding, Herrmann Ultraschall realizes special solutions for many other packaging variants. Thanks to long-term experience in terms of key functions, such as guiding, movement travel, drive and force build-up, it is possible to implement customer requirements, such as cycle time, and space specifications in a targeted and efficient way.
