Essential EBAR+ UV 405

The Essential EBAR+ UV 405 is a highly powerful LED light, very useful for machine vision applications requiring intense luminous flux. It can be set up downwards, in the same axis as the camera’s, or with an angle of incidence, to perfectly illuminate rectangular areas on a production line.


The Essential EBAR+ UV 405 is very easy to use: you don’t have to adjust anything, only to plug it in. There are 2 functioning modes: continuous and strobe, with very short rising and falling times (15 μs and 10 μs). Its black aluminium structure is very robust with a IP65 rating. UV INFO: in the light spectrum, UV (ultra violet) rays are electromagnetic radiations situated between 280 and 400 nm (visible radiations: between 400 and 800 nm). What makes UV very interesting is the fact that, even if it is invisible for the naked eye, it can be observed by fluorescence: when some bodies are submitted to UV wavelengths, they emit a visible light. This is the principle of black light and of counterfeit notes detection.

The enclosure was designed to withstand the rigours of chemical cleaning and decontamination processes associated with these industries. Collimated CSBACK backlight

TPL Vision’s semi-collimated backlight, the CSBACK is the perfect illumination choice for the inspection or measurement of clear plastics and rounded parts. Collimated light by definition has parallel light rays, and therefore spreads minimally as it propagates, helping to create high-contrast images needed for precise edge detection and defect analysis. Key application areas include the inspection of objects with rounded edges and clear parts, which may be challenging to inspect with traditional backlights due to the lack of contrast. A collimated light allows users to eliminate this effect by providing a narrower illumination angle that stops the light from wrapping around rounded parts. This also means that images of clear parts no longer appear “washed out”. The edges are more clearly defined, and details are seen with improved contrast, leading to high-quality images and increased accuracy.

High Power HPBACK

The HPBACK is a high-power backlight solution for Machine Vision applications.


This product is the next evolution of TPL Vision’s high running MBACK+ Standard product, carrying significant product enhancements.

Including: brightness level up to 45 kLux*, new connector making it easier and more cost effective to integrate, improved rising and falling times of 15μs and 10μs respectively and custom sizes available in 1cm steps (from 200 x 200mm up to 500 x 500mm or 1000 x 200mm).


The robust Aluminium casing of the product can be manufactured to sizes from 200 x 200mm up to 900 x 900mm or 1900 x 400mm. Medium MBACK+ OverDrive

The Medium MBACK+ Overdrive is a backlight both powerful and very diffuse, dedicated to many machine vision applications. Thanks to the high power LED inside, it creates intense luminous flux, that helps cameras to see the workpieces shapes by creating a shadow puppet effect. You can even decrease the light power when necessary. It works in continuous and strobe mode, with very short rising and falling times25 μs and 15 μs. Equipped with very thin edges, the Medium MBACK+ uniformly illuminates from the whole useful surface, included from the edges. No hot spot to be seen!

The connector can be placed on any side of the MBACK+, which can then be set up on any kind of conveyor belts. Collimated Medium CMBACK+

The semi-collimated CMBACK+ is a powerful and very diffuse backlight, dedicated to many machine vision applications.


The CMBACK+ is manufactured with filters which eliminate the non-perpendicular light (>30° compared to the vertical axis of the lighting surface). This collimation helps to get highly contrasted images. This is why this product is recommended for the edge detection of round or thick workpieces, and also for the detection of markings or defects on transparent workpieces.


It has a strobe entry and a potentiometer to vary the lighting power. The OVERDRIVE version offers a higher lighting power. Either in continuous or strobe mode, with short rising and falling times: 25 μs and 15 μs. With thin edges, the CMBACK+ uniformly illuminates the whole surface. Small SBACK II

Thanks to its thin borders, the new SMALL SBACK II is a backlight both powerful and homogeneous, that perfectly fits confined spaces. Settled under the objects to be controlled, the SMALL SBACK II highlights the global shape of the objects (shadow puppet effect), which enables the verification of possible outline defects and material lacks.

Equipped with new LED, it offers a lighting power 4 to 5 times higher than in the previous version for the white and red colours (WHI & 630).

Black & Light (BN'L)

Many machine vision systems use multiple light sources. LED panels equipped with white diffusers can interfere with the camera and reduce the efficiency of other illumination sources by scattering light in unintended directions, creating unwanted reflections, and diminishing contrast, which can compromise the quality of the inspection.


The Black & Light (Bn’L) by TPL Vision offers an innovative solution compatible with most vision applications. When the light is on, it works as a traditional homogeneous backlight, highlighting the shape of objects and creating a uniform silhouette. When it’s off, it becomes a matte black background. This is extremely useful when other illuminations are used, as the black background absorbs scattered light and ensures that panels equipped with white diffusers do not interfere with how light is perceived by the camera.

FLOOD Light

The FLOOD Light by TPL Vision is a high power flat illumination, which can illuminate large areas from a distance. It is specifically dedicated to the logistics market, and in particular, the control of palletizing process. The FLOOD Light has very thin edges and offers homogeneous light from the entire working surface, including from the edges. Both powerful and very diffuse, the Medium Flat MFDOME+ Overdrive can deal with many machine vision applications. The MFDOME+ has been designed to detect small pieces in a container, to highlight thermoformed products or to improve contrasts on workpieces made of several materials. It works in continuous and strobe mode, with very short rising and falling times25 μs and 15 μs.


Equipped with very thin borders, the MFDOME+ uniformly illuminates from the whole useful surface, included from the edges. No hot spot in sight! Very thin, the MFDOME+ has a hole in the middle to insert the camera’s lens. And using the TPL Vision mounting accessories, you can easily integrate it thanks to the mounting plate.

MR-DOME

The MR-DOME is compound of a bi-colour LED lighting ring (2 sets of colours and 2 dimensions) and a dome reflector. It has been designed with tough production environments in mind: IP65 as standard, overdrive embedded, simple remote control capability (selection of colours and quadrants).


Reflected dome light can be used when:

  • objects are highly reflective (shiny),
  • the target area is subject to shadowing with direct or low angle light sources,
  • the target area has some very uneven surfaces.


The MR-DOME should be mounted close to the object of interest to maximise the effect of the illumination style.


To minimise the «black dot» visible within the image, the diameter of the hole at the top of the dome should also be minimised. This can be done using the supplied plastic caps. The MR-DOME provides a highly-diffused light source which has no component of direct lighting. The light intensity is lower than with other illumination techniques but will have a high degree of homogeneity.

MR-Dark Field (DKF)

The MR-Dark Field (DKF) is made up of our bi-colour LED Modular Ringlight (available in 2 sets of colours and 2 dimensions) and a dark field reflector. The Modular Ringlight and its accessories have been designed with tough production environments in mind: IP65 as standard, overdrive embedded, equipped with a simple remote control capability (selection of colours and quadrants).


Dark field lighting is perfect for creating contrast in applications such as:


  • Surface inspection: highlighting defects, scratches, or imperfections on various materials including metal, glass, and plastics,
  • Defect detection: for example in the in automotive or semiconductor manufacturing industry, inspecting components, paintwork or machined parts,
  • Edge detection: creating high contrast and helping algorithms identify the boundaries of objects.


By directing light towards the subject at a shallow angle, dark field lighting can be used to create contrast in which the highlighted features appear bright against a dark background - hence the name "dark field". Most of the reflected light is directed away from the camera (creating the dark backdrop), and only the light scattered off of any features with edges is collected by the camera, creating a striking contrast.


MR-Low Angle

The MR-LOW ANGLE is compound of a bi-colour LED lighting ring (2 sets of colours and 2 dimensions) and a low angle reflector, with an angle of incidence of 45°.

It has been designed with tough production environments in mind: IP65 as standard, overdrive embedded, simple remote control capability (selection of colours and quadrants).


It is used for applications where a direct light source is considered too harsh or bright but the diffused light provided by the Dome version is not enough intensity. The light source will provide some degree of homogeneity.


Reflected light can be used when:


  • objects are highly reflective (shiny),
  • the target area is subject to shadowing with direct or low angle light sources,
  • the target area has some very un-even surfaces.


The MR-LOW ANGLE should be mounted close to the object of interest to maximise the effect of the illumination style. Moving it further away from the object will lower the light intensity recorded by the camera and weaken the effect of the coloured light and illumination style.

High Power Strobe Barlight (HPS)
