This year’s Chairman’s lunch did not disappoint for location and thrills; as it shared a day with the first day of the new Labour Government.
Set within Church House in Dean’s Yard in Westminster, Automate UK members and guests entered the venue amongst the buzz of Sir Keir Starmer being driven from meeting His Majesty King Charles the Second then onto the Houses of Parliament to take his oath as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom.
Our Chairman James Causebrook hosted an exemplary lunch, giving the visiting members an opportunity to network and meet colleagues and peers. Before hearing a fascinating presentation from former Squadron Leader Sarah Furness about her extraordinary career and her leadership role as the first female helicopter pilot to fly Special Forces in Afghanistan.
Sarah then demonstrated how some of the leadership lessons that she learnt during her tours of duty were easily translatable into the corporate environment.
Automate UK Chairman, James Causebrook said, “As ever it was great to get so many members together in a relaxed environment to share views and in Sarah Furness we had one of the best note keynote speakers we have ever had. What strikes me and excites me is the amount of opportunism in the industry at the moment”
Members were then treated to a beautiful three course lunch within the pristine dining area at Church House.
