Gear unit and motor in one: the new Nord DuoDrive

Nord has released is its powerful, compact and low-noise DuoDrive, which integrates the high-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motor, coupled with a single-stage helical gear unit in one housing for optimum efficiency.

The low maintenance Nord-patented DuoDrive enables consistent version reduction paired with a smooth, unventilated and compact design. Together with its simple plug-and-play commissioning, the DuoDrive offers the complete solution, which result in a significant reduction in total cost of ownership compared to previous drive systems.

Due to its hygienic wash-down design, the DuoDrive is suitable for the use in the food industry, as well as intralogistics. It also offers the highest efficiency (92%) of a gear unit/motor combination in this power class on the market and achieves very high systems efficiency in the partial load range.

The first available DuoDrive size covers gear unit speed ratios of i = 3.24 to i = 16.2 and is designed for torque ranges of up to 80 Nm and speeds of up to 1,000 min-1.
