The latest code reader from Sick is said to be rugged, intuitive and cost-effective – as well as reliable in capturing data and quick to install.
Its new sensingCam SEC200 is designed to help customers identify 1D and 2D codes in any orientation, keep processes running smoothly and reduce avoidable delays. An integrated web server, industrial connectivity and clear visual and acoustic feedback all help to simplify configuration, speed up commissioning and support dependable operation on the shop floor, says Sick.
The 1.3-megapixel camera module operates at reading distances of 100mm to 300mm. For operators, clear confirmation of successful scanning comes in the form of a green feedback LED and an acoustic signal. This is especially helpful at manual picking stations or assembly steps, says Sick, where simple handling reduces training time, supports operator acceptance and helps deliver consistent scan results.
Its robust industrial housing with IP65 enclosure rating is also engineered to protect the device against dust, water spray and mechanical stress, helping to maintain reliable performance in demanding environments.
The sensingCam SEC200 is designed to be installed and commissioned quickly. Standardised mounting accessories, an LED alignment aid and an integrated web server allow users to configure the code reader directly in a browser, without additional software. Ethernet and USB connectivity are said to simplify integration into existing automation and IT environments, helping customers save time during commissioning.
With the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) coming into force from 11 December 2027, Sick has been applying a binding cybersecurity strategy for many years, and the sensingCam SEC200 was developed with CRA compliance in mind.
