Millitec diversifies from food automation to healthcare

Millitec Food Systems has turned its hand to supplying personal protective equipment (PPE) for the healthcare sector.

The Derbyshire-based company is recognised for its design and manufacture of automation and robotics products for the food production industry; however, it has diversified its skillset and is now working with Glenfield Hospital (part of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust) to develop face visors suitable for medical facilities, retail, care homes, pharmacies and veterinary practices.

Millitec has already donated visors to hospitals, including Glenfield and Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre. Additionally, they have implemented a scheme whereby members of the public can purchase items for a hospital or healthcare facility of their choice, which the company will deliver. This initiative has already benefited St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, as well as local charities, including Gears for Goodwill.

Additionally, Millitec has developed a food factory specification visor, featuring a blue polypropylene headband, as well as social shielding screens to protect key workers in the food factories, where social distancing is not always possible.

For more information on the child and adult visors available from Millitec, please go to www.protexion.co.uk. Alternatively, go to: www.millitec.com
