US label converter Omni Systems is using Domino K600i units at its various sites to apply quality variable data and sequential codes at high speed.
The company now operates three K600i units in its Cleveland, Ohio, facility – two 558mm dual-bar units and one 445mm single-bar unit. Its most recent installation was of a 445mm single-bar unit to support their growing prime label market at its St Louis, Missouri, operation.
The labels company says its continued investment in digital printing, particularly with the Domino K600i technology, allows it to remain at the forefront of efficiency and innovation while meeting evolving customer needs.
According to Omni president Mike Murton, the ability to print high-quality, variable data labels at scale is more important than ever. “As customer needs continue to evolve, particularly with the rise of QR codes and GS1’s Sunrise 2027 initiative, we are well-positioned to provide innovative solutions that meet modern supply chain demands,” he says.
Domino describes the unit as a proven, highly productive monochrome digital UV inkjet system for printing variable data onto a wide range of coated or uncoated web and sheet applications. It is typically integrated into a flexo press, rewinder or finishing system and is capable of printing up to 150 metres per minute at 600 dpi in a dual-bar configuration, or 75 metres per minute as a single-bar. Standard print bar widths are 108mm, 220mm, 333mm, 445mm and 558mm.
The Cleveland facility operates around the clock five days a week, printing between 6.5 and 8 million labels over a 24 hour period on the 558mm K600i units.
