WMH is a successful, well established family engineering business based in Callington Cornwall and specialises in the design and manufacture of production and process equipment used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

WMH supplies its products and support services to several blue-chip companies both in the UK and overseas with typical order values ranging from £330k to £1m. These often include complete turnkey solutions backed up by our customer support. 

WMH currently employs 45 highly skilled staff, it has a turnover of around £5 million and is looking to grow to £7 million, driving this growth will be one of your key objectives.

WMH is seeking to recruit a Managing Director who can lead the company into and beyond in this exciting next chapter. You will be responsible for setting the company direction and providing the necessary leadership, strategies, goals, and determination to succeed. You will report to the family board members and together will set the future company goals and objectives.

Reporting to you directly will be the Senior management team made up of four key department managers.

A positive, can-do attitude as well as clear communication and leadership skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will have engineering, equipment manufacturing experience enabling them to make key decisions backed by a relevant knowledge.

You will be the face of the company and for some customers the main point of contact. 

A willingness to travel occasionally is essential as many of our customers are based all over the UK and Europe.

A knowledge of the following is required,

·       Management best practice
·       Company finance and accounts.
·       Health & Safety best practice.
·       Human resource and employment best practice.
·       Engineering principles.
·       Design principles.
·       Drafting quotations.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and personal attributes.

• Senior management experience within related manufacturing industries,
• Experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical environment working with production equipment and an understanding of production processes.
• Good interpersonal and team working skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Happy to travel.
• Able to work away from home.
• Higher level education.
• Qualifications in best management practice.
