New CPD certified courses to help SMEs adopt robotics and automation

Automate UK and Cranfield University have been awarded funding through the government’s Robotics Adoption Programme to develop two new CPD certified courses for SMEs.

Many SMEs can see the potential of robotics and automation but find it difficult to know where to start, which processes to automate, or how to assess the investment. Both courses focus on the people who make those decisions.

The courses are currently in development. Course dates and booking details will be shared once confirmed.

The courses

Robotics & Automation Adoption Essentials
For organisations that want to understand where robotics and automation can deliver value in their operations. You’ll learn how to:

• Analyse existing processes and identify automation opportunities
• Assess the technical and operational feasibility of automation solutions
• Develop initial requirements and technical specifications
• Understand key integration, safety, compliance and risk considerations
• Produce an outline implementation plan for a robotics or automation project

Robotics & Automation Adoption Strategies
For business leaders, operational managers and decision-makers responsible for technology investment. You’ll learn how to:

• Prioritise automation opportunities across your organisation
• Develop an automation strategy and adoption roadmap
• Build robust business cases and assess return on investment
• Manage supplier and lifecycle considerations
• Address organisational change, workforce development and skills
• Consider governance, safety, cybersecurity and ethical issues
