WMH is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our experienced engineering team in Callington, Cornwall. The role involves developing PLC, motion control and HMI software for automated systems, collaborating with Sales and Design teams, commissioning equipment both in-house and at customer sites, and providing technical support. Applicants should have relevant engineering qualifications, experience within the food or pharmaceutical sectors, and familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi platforms. Strong communication skills, a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel are essential. Responsibilities include:

- Developing PLC programs and motion control code for new automated systems
- Liaising with the Sales and Design teams to develop competitive automation solution for each project
- HMI screen writing
- Commissioning equipment for FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) at Callington
- Commissioning newly installed equipment at customer sites
- Supporting customers and resolving issues, either remotely or on site

Candidate requirements:

- Relevant engineering / electrical qualifications, with experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical sector working with production equipment
- Familiar with Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Siemens software
- Experience with vision systems
- Extensive experience of AB MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLC’s, and Kinetix servo controllers, would be very useful
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills
- Full UK driving license, happy to travel in the UK, Europe and worldwide, and able to work away from home
- You must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role
- This role is based in our office in Callington, Cornwall, you must be able to commute to this location
