WMH is a successful, established engineering business based in Callington, Cornwall.

We specialise in the design and manufacture of production and process equipment used in the food production and pharmaceutical industries.

WMH supplies products and support services to several blue-chip companies in the UK and overseas.

Order values range up to multi-million pounds, and often include turnkey solutions backed up by our customer support.

We are seeking to recruit a Controls Engineer. The successful applicant will join a small but highly experienced team of engineering and electrical specialists with a real passion for delivering excellence, and will bring a strong technical background in automation and control systems.

Responsibilities include:

- Developing PLC programs and motion control code for new automated systems
- Liaising with the Sales and Design teams to develop competitive automation solution for each project
- HMI screen writing
Commissioning equipment for FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) at Callington
- Commissioning newly installed equipment at customer sites
- Supporting customers and resolving issues, either remotely or on site

Contribute to:

- Product development of new and existing automated equipment, feeding practical controls insight back into design
- Regular strategic reviews to ensure WMH’s automation and control capabilities stay aligned with the market
- Maintaining and enhancing WMH’s reputation, built on over 50 years of attention to customer requirements, innovation and build quality

Candidate requirements:

- Relevant engineering / electrical qualifications, with experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical sector working with production equipment
- Familiar with Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Siemens software
- Experience with vision systems
- Extensive experience of AB MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix - PLC’s, and Kinetix servo controllers, would be very useful
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills
- Full UK driving license, happy to travel in the UK, Europe and worldwide, and able to work away from home
- You must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role
- This role is based in our office in Callington, Cornwall, you must be able to commute to this location .
